Material. Leather biker boots offer better protection than fabric boots. Leather boots protect against debris and prevent burns. Boots made of leather also protect your toes from being hurt during a quick slide down the road. Heels. Choose a pair with stepped boot heels that will keep your feet on the bike pegs. Clasps. Opt for a pair of boots that you can easily slip on like zippered biker boots over ones with shoelaces that might snag your foot on your motorcycle. Length/Height. Tall knee-high boots that protects your ankles against kicked up debris; stones, exhaust pipes and what have you are better than ankle-high ones. Soles. Boot soles that have adequate traction are a must. Composition boot soles are better than leather soles. Most motorcycle boots have oil resistant soles, but better make sure that the boots you are buying has this important feature. Find biker boots that are lined with waterproof breathable membranes to keep your feet dry in times of rough weather. Make sure that the boots you will buy have adequate protection padding and close fitting buckles. Most importantly, make sure that your boots fit you well. Dirt riding is a rough enough sport without you having to suffer uncomfortable riding gear. |
