Dirt Bikes for Dummies - Participation
Written by matt
Joining dirt bike clubs is a rewarding experience. There are many benefits of joining a dirt bike club but the most important incentive of becoming a club-member is the depth and breadth of information you can get from being one.

Membership in a club is an effective way of learning everything you have to know about dirt riding: bikes (e.g., models, tips on choosing the best bike for you, current prices of bikes, bike shops, bike parts/accessories/gear shops, repairing your dirt bikes, dirt bike crashes, joining dirt bike races, dirt bike events sponsored by the club and other local/national motorbike organizations, etc.). You can acquire information about dirt riding by actual and direct sharing of experience with your fellow motorbike enthusiasts when you join a motorcycle club. You can also share books and other reading materials about the subject with your fellow club members. A motorcycle club normally puts out newsletters where members can learn everything about motorcycles from the latest bike gear and dirt bike gadgetry to the personalities of dirt riding.

More important than acquiring information, however, is the camaraderie that you will enjoy in joining a motorcycle club. A crash is always a painful experience, but can also occasionally be funny when considered from somebody else’s point of view. Forking out unnecessary cash for unnecessary gear can be prevented if you have a friend whom you can happily share information with, and so on and so forth.

Of clubs, there are motorbike organizations that are exclusive to specific dirt bike brands. For example, the BMW Motorcycle Owners of America and the BMW Riders Association, as their club name suggests, are BMW enthusiasts whose members would expectedly be sharing a passion for riding BMW dirt bikes. There are also nationwide motorcycle clubs like the American Motorcyclist Association, which is a 250-million-strong organization of motorcycle aficionados nationwide which takes in anyone interested in motorcycles. The American Motorcyclist Association’s members are particularly interested in the thousands of dirt bike events that the club endorses every year, namely, races, rides and rallies, and provides its members with great places to ride.
